July 15, 2017 Day 7 Travel Day
Before we departed for our next adventure, Wenix sat us
around the camp fire and gave us some advice, about first impressions and
volunteering. She mentioned about how you don’t know who is watching you, that
one day, if you’re up for a job, depending on if you were lazy or helpful,
could determine whether you’re hired or not. That the good work you do, people
will remember you for that. First impressions.
Wenix also advised us to visit the McNary Dam as we make our
way to Wellpinit. We did stop and took pictures of the salmon and the lamprey.
We then went to the visitors center and watched a three minute video clip about
the McNary Dam and the life cycle of the salmon. It was a nice visit, one where
I would like to bring my kids to see the fish.
I thought the ride to Wellpinit was beautiful. The hills are
high offering dramatic views of the river and valley.
